Dreams work!!  And I'm living proof.  Some of you may remember the old Slogan by Nike "Just do it."  This slogan is the phrase I endeavor to live by.  Why?  You can't wait for your dreams to come true.  Your dreams are there to inspire you. To make a dream reality, you have to "just do it."  

When I tell my students about the shy, socially awkward, timid and academically unsuccessful student I was in school, they find it very difficult to believe me.  However, the truth is that I was not going anywhere in High School, and I was definitely not following my dreams.  

When I stopped listening to other people, and started following my own heart, things shifted.  I made a conscious choice to do the things that I longed to do, and be the person I wanted to be despite the fear that so often seemed to be my constant companion.  When I stopped listening to that negative and fearful voice in my head, and I started to "just do it", that inner voice became more supportive and compassionate.  And, with it came a new feeling of freedom, confidence and joy.
