Helping holistic practitioners and heart-centred solopreneurs get organized and up to date with their business bookkeeping foundations so that they have more time to focus on their clients.
Following high school graduation, Carla Thompson received a diploma in small business management & accounting through a private business college. In subsequent years, she was awarded a program grant to establish her small business as a British Columbia artisan market vendor and gift shop owner.
In 2015, she joined 100 Braid St Studios & Gallery as the resident crochet teacher. Through her pop-up studio, Sweet’s Curio Gift Shop, Carla sold her one-of-a-kind crocheted items, bringing the warm fuzzies to all ages.
“I crochet loving, supportive energies into each stitch”
A few years, Carla began managing the many art and non-art related events that happened in the historic industrial building. She also began doing the bookkeeping for the studio, which at the time, was home to 45+ co-working resident artists and makers.
In 2020, Carla completed a course in Payroll Compliance Legislation through the National Payroll Institute. She recently refreshed her bookkeeping credentials at Camosun College School of Business, where she finished as one of the top (and oldest) students in the class.
Carla enjoys Vancouver Island life alongside her Mr. Gentleman, often wandering with camera in hand, connecting with Mother Nature in the trees or at the ocean. Cooking a feast for the family, creating with her hands and studying metaphysical topics are among her other favourite pastimes.
