Helping clients give voice to their complex struggles has been a passion of mine for many years. We grow as individuals by recognizing and exploring the experiences and challenges that are a part of our personal life journey. In doing so, we learn and develop new perspectives that re-frame our stories, and help renew belief in ourselves and others.
In my counselling profession I also offer clients the practice of writing as an opportunity to explore their lives in written form. An act of self-compassion, evaluation, and catharsis, expression through creative practice can give individuals a tool to explore difficult emotions. As a Professional Counselor with a strong foundation in writing as a therapeutic tool, I have been guiding clients for 20 years toward a place of reflection, strength, and self-awareness.
As a sessional professor at the University of Victoria for the last eight years, I have proven a deep commitment to imparting knowledge, and empowering others. Professional Counselling allows me to put into practice all that I know and continue to learn, in the compassionate service of helping others. I'm an award-winning, published writer, a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC) candidate with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (a member of the Associations for Counselling Therapists in B.C.)
