We need to start with ourselves and build kindness, compassion, and empathy. The Enneagram is about how we get fixated on doing certain things through our personality. We want something better for ourselves and for others, and it's the ways that we get stuck. In this session, you will learn about a centering practice. To help us connect to ourselves because we forget every day, and that is just normal. We learn to not make ourselves wrong for that and learn to come back to ourselves, time after time. It's like showering every day, if we could do it once and not do it again for a lifetime, that would be great. And at the same time, we're human, yes, we're spirit but we're also human. So we need to take care of the human part of ourselves, and not feel shame about that. And that's one of the aspects that the Enneagram talks about. We'll talk about all nine types. We each have some part of each of the 9 types within us. What happens is if we ignore parts of ourselves, it becomes shadow. I learned through my Enneagram training to help us bring shadow into awareness, those parts of ourselves that really can be running the show unconsciously. And once we have awareness , we have choice. We'll walk through some experiential practices for each of the types and each of the centers; we have a head, heart and gut or body. We always start with the body because that's what helps bring us present.
