ABOUT JENICA

Jenica Geisler (she/her/they/them), R.Ac, KOH.P

Jenica was born on the Gixtan First Nation territory, now known as Hazelton in British Columbia. She is from the land of her ancestors -mainly the British isles on her mothers side and eastern Europe/Germanic tribes on her fathers side.   Currently she resides on the unceded territories of the Lekwungen-Speaking  and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, Victoria, BC.

Jenica completed her diploma in Doctorate studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences (ACOS) in Nelson, BC, in 2012.  Before opening her private practice in 2018, she began practicing as a Community Acupuncturist, which inspired her to use her skillset for positive social and cultural change.  

Currently, Jenica is embarking on personal ancestral lineage healing, which emphasizes learning to relate directly with one’s recent and more ancient blood ancestors for personal, family, and cultural healing.  As well she continues to practice decolonizing her heart, mind, and body, allowing her growth into right relationship with herself, her relationships, and the land to inform her work and practice.   

She is passionate about reconnecting to what it means to be an embodied, relational human, and is inspired to connect with others on reimagining wholeness at the intersections of intergenerational trauma, current structures of oppression, and a generative and co-creative future.

In addition to Passage Wellness & Acupuncture, you can find her practicing at Heart & Hands Health Collective, providing effective and accessible care to the community with affordable sliding scale rates in a group setting.

She enjoys learning about astrology -an evolutionary compass from the stars, and how this technology can inform our choices and perspectives.  Exploring the outdoors off on new adventures and spending time with the nourishing connections in her life bring her great joy.

MY APPROACH

The nature of my work is holistic, meaning I recognize we have many bodies that make up who we are -including our physical, mental, emotional, and energetic bodies.  As well, we are also the relational connection to our larger social, cultural, ancestral, and spiritual bodies too.  It is through this lens that I hold space and offer treatment.  

I believe our well-being is a reflection of the intersections between our bodies and the culture that infuses and surrounds us.  At a time of cultural and ecological crisis, many of us are grieving the waning connection to ourselves, each other, and the land we call home.  It's helpful to acknowledge that our suffering can be much more than the individual and it is necessary to have approaches to healing that reflect this.   Each person is an expert of their own experience, body, and needs, and I believe that it is necessary to address the roots of trauma and injustice for individual and collective transformation and liberation.    

My foundational training is in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. In addition, my practice is informed by training in Dr. Tan distal needling, Kruger Omni Healing, somatic bodywork, grief theory, trauma-aware support, healing justice work, cultural somatics, interpersonal neurobiology, animist values, intuitive healing, as well as my personal experiences with ancestral lineage repair.

I whole-heartedly believe in the individual and collective capacity for healing and I see my role as a facilitator to support the self-healing of my patients. 

Bringing my background of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, my skill set as a Kruger Omni Healing Practitioner, as well as my passion for how the political, social, and cultural intersect our bodies and impact our well-being, together we facilitate unique, and effective healing.
