Tarot Basics: A Beginner's Guide

An introduction to the art of Tarot! Get familiar with this ancient divination tool to discover the magic behind the pictures.

We will discuss the Major Arcana, the Minor Arcana or Pip Cards as well as the Court Cards. Find out more about how to use Tarot to unlock your intuitive powers.

This workshop is perfect for beginners who are wanting to learn more about where Tarot comes, how it works and why you will fall in LOVE with this fascinating spiritual system of symbolic archetypes.

Be sure to bring a Tarot deck to the workshop! I'd recommend the Rider-Waite deck or something similar such as the Morgan-Greer deck.

A traditional Tarot deck has 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana, 16 Court Cards (page/princess, prince/knight, queen, king/knight) and 40 pip cards that are divided into the 4 suits representing the elements: swords, wands, cups, disks/pentacles. There are many authors and illustrators that have taken liberties in their Tarot decks such as changing the names of the cards or suits and adding or subtracting cards. Be sure to check over your deck before the workshop to ensure it follows the traditional system!
